Toledo man indicted for murder attempt

A 37-year-old Toledoan accused of stabbing two people at a home at 3501 Upton Ave. has been indicted by a Lucas County grand jury on multiple felony charges.

Andrew Chance of 2717 North Summit St. was charged with one count of aggravated burglary, 14 counts of felonious assault, and two counts of attempt to commit murder. He remains in the Lucas County jail.

Mr. Chance is accused of stabbing Atonya Stigall, 28, and David Thompson, 27, at 9 a.m. June 6. Police said both victims were taken to Toledo Hospital with serious injuries.

Ms. Stigall has known Mr. Chance for years, and they have a child together, police said. Mr. Thompson did not know Mr. Chance.
