OAK HARBOR - Voters in the Benton-Carroll-Salem Schools district, which has had no new money voted in for 11 years, again rejected a funding request Tuesday night.
The district was seeking a five-year, 3.9-mill operating levy that would have generated about $1.3 million a year and cost the owner of a $100,000 house $119 annually. With defeat of the levy, the district’s elementary schools in Graytown and Carroll Township could close; participation fees could be imposed, and bus routes might be reduced.
