TEMPERANCE -- Bedford Township Trustee Gail Hauser-Hurley has announced that she is running for township clerk as a Republican. She will face off against incumbent Trudy Hershberger -- who recently was appointed to the office and also is running as a Republican -- in the Aug. 7 primary.
Mrs. Hauser-Hurley and her husband, Ron, have lived in the township more than 41 years. They have two sons and five grandchildren. She was a member of the Monroe County Board of Commissioners representing District 8 from 1990 to 2002 and did stints as vice president of the board and chairman of the finance committee.
She is the township board's representative to the Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Governments and is secretary of the Bedford Community Foundation.
