Elections board certifies 2 Republican candidates

BLADE STAFF

The Lucas County Board of Elections certified two Republican replacement candidates Friday to run for county offices in November.

Brent McCormack of Sylvania Township will appear on the ballot as a Republican nominee for county commissioner, replacing Jonathon Anderson, who withdrew from the race against incumbent Democrat Tina Skeldon Wozniak. Also running is independent Kevin Haddad.

Constantine Stamos of Toledo, meanwhile, will run for Common Pleas Clerk of Courts instead of Hans Schnapp, who withdrew to work at the board of elections. Mr. Stamos is challenging Democratic incumbent Bernie Quilter.
