Candidate for vice president, Paul Ryan, to speak at a 'victory town hall' in Lima
LIMA, Ohio - Paul Ryan, the Republican candidate for vice president, will speak in a "victory town hall" rally in the Veterans Memorial Civic & Convention Center at 3:10 p.m. Monday, under new details announced by the Romney-Ryan campaign.
The Lima event starts off a three-day tour of Ohio for Mr. Ryan and GOP nominee Mitt Romney to promote the “Romney Plan for a Stronger Middle Class."
Doors open at the town hall at 12:30 p.m.
Mr. Ryan, a congressman from Wisconsin, is then to campaign in Cincinnati on Wednesday. Mr. Romney is to travel to Dayton on Tuesday and continue on to Columbus, Cleveland, and Toledo Wednesday.
Also on Wednesday, Democratic President Barack Obama will visit Bowling Green and Kent, Ohio.
Mr. Ryan is expected back in Columbus on Sept. 29 to headline the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance "Save Our Heritage" rally as the fight for the state’s 18 electoral votes intensifies. No Republican has ever made it to the White House without winning Ohio, and no Democrat has done it since John F. Kennedy in 1960.
Mr. Obama was just in Ohio on Monday, at rallies in Cincinnati and Columbus, and Mr. Romney was in the state a week earlier.
