MENTOR, Ohio -- Greater Cleveland is one of the more concentrated Catholic communities in the country, and the split among Catholics in this presidential election was on display at President Obama's campaign rally here Saturday.
A crowd of about 2,000 or more Obama supporters was already inside the Mentor High School gym a couple of hours before the start of President Obama's speech and a like number was lined up outside waiting to get in the gym or into an overflow space.
"Obamacare is mandating the Catholic faith provide birth control and abortions, and that's against our religion," said real estate broker Gregg Boehlefeld, 57, of Mentor. "It funds abortions and that's against the Catholic faith. It's going to bankrupt our nation," he said.
