The Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce endorsed Mayor Mike Bell’s bid for re-election Monday.

Mr. Bell is running against Councilman D. Michael Collins. Both are running as Independents in the Nov. 5 general election.

In 2009, the chamber donated $16,000 to Mr. Bell’s campaign.

Also endorsed were five city council candidates — Rob Ludeman, Adam Martinez, Larry Sykes, Sandy Spang, and Jim Nowak — and two Toledo Public Schools Board of Education candidates — Bob Vasquez and Tina Henold.

Mr. Ludeman and Mr. Nowak are Republicans. Mr. Martinez and Mr. Sykes are Democrats. Ms. Spang is running as an Independent. Mr. Ludeman, Mr. Martinez, and Mr. Vasquez are incumbents. Mr. Sykes is currently holding public office as a member of the TPS board.
