Leyland, Glanville to join Perrysburg Hall of Fame
Perrysburg's Jim Leyland and Jerry Glanville headline the Perrysburg High Athletic Hall of Fame class scheduled for induction tonight prior to the start of the Northern Lakes League boys contest between Perrysburg and Rossford.
Leyland, a 1962 graduate, and Glanville (1959) made their mark nationally working in professional sports. Leyland, a longtime Major League Baseball manager, guided the Detroit Tigers to the World Series last season. Glanville, who is currently an assistant coach at the University of Hawaii, was a successful head coach in the National Football League with the Houston Oilers and Atlanta Falcons.
Leyland and Glanville make up one-third of the group that represents the second induction class. Patty Ferguson McLean, Deb Snow, Steve Pheasant and Jim Derr will also be inducted into the Hall for their accomplishments.
A reception with the latest Hall inductees will take place after the game and is open for all in attendance.
