Walleye defenseman Jacob MacDonald has been selected to represent the team in the ECHL All-Star Game later this month.
MacDonald, who is in his first season with Toledo, currently ranks second among all defensemen in the league in scoring. MacDonald has tallied seven goals and dished out 19 assists.
The 23-year-old native of Brighton, Mich. leads Toledo's defensemen with 26 points in 30 games. He ranks third among all ECHL defensemen in assists.
The ECHL All-Star Game will be held on Jan. 18 in Glen Falls, N.Y.
MacDonald was acquired in the summer to complete a trade made with Elmira late last season. MacDonald earned a spot on the ECHL all-rookie team last year while playing for the Jackals.
The 6-foot and 210-pound defenseman produced 37 points with 17 goals and 20 assists in 72 games for Elmira last season.
MacDonald's skill set as a versatile, two-way defender has fit well into Toledo's uptempo, quick transitioning system.
The Walleye play at Wheeling on Friday and host Brampton on Saturday.
