Home sales were down 19 percent in August in Lucas County and down 15 percent in northwest Ohio, according to new figures from the Toledo Board of Realtors.
There was 353 house sales last month in Lucas County, down from 493 the month before and 436 for September, 2006, the board said. In the 10 or more counties covered by the board, sales slid to 566 last month, down from 782 the month before and from 662 a year earlier.
Year-to-date sales, the board said, slipped to 5,848 for the region from 6,420 a year earlier, and average price sunk to $124,835 from $131,048 a year ago.
