Foreclosure filings in Lucas County rose to 674 in August, up 94 percent from a year earlier. The figure means there was one foreclosure action for every 302 housing units in the county, according to a monthly report released today by RealtyTrac Inc., a real estate data firm in Irvine, Calif.
In Ohio, foreclosure filings in August totaled 11,368, up 0.1 percent over the same month a year earlier. The filings put Ohio 14th among states with the highest foreclosure rates and represented one filing for every 446 housing units.
In Michigan, foreclosures totaled 19,359 — up 42 percent from a year ago. The state ranked fifth highest in filings nationally, with one for every 234 housing units.
