Home sales in Lucas County rose last month from the same month a year ago, but the average sales price declined, according to the Toledo Board of Realtors.
The trade group said Thursday that 387 houses sold in August, up from 374 a year ago but down from 396 in July. The average sales price was $103,000 last month, down from $119,000 a year earlier.
Home sales from January through August for Lucas County are down 1 percent this year, at 2,763 and the sales price is down 18 percent to $93,000.
For the northwest Ohio county region, home sales were up to 634 last month, from 576 a year ago, the Realtors said. The average sales price slumped to $104,000 from $119,000 a year ago. For the first eight months of the year, sales for the region were off 2 percent to 4,271 and the average price was down 15 percent to $99,000, the group said.
