Foreclosure-related filings in the four-county Toledo area in August were about the same as a year earlier, according to data released today by RealtyTrac, a California real estate data firm.
There were 784 homes in some stage of the foreclosure process in August, down from 789 in August, 2012.
RealtyTrac says its report incorporates documents filed in all three phases of foreclosure: default, notice of trustee’s sale or notice of foreclosure sale, and real estate owned properties — those that have been foreclosed on and repurchased by a bank.
Ohio forelosure activity was up 4 percent from a year ago and has the third-highest foreclosure rate after Florida and Maryland.
