UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Construction continues on Gardengate Villas, an Edgebrook Development Co. subdivision, off Heatherdowns Boulevard. The villas are two and three-bedroom units with or without sunrooms that range from 1,200 to 1,700 square feet. Cost of the villas start at $149,900, and a 15-year, transferable tax abatement is being  offered. Construction on a model and two speculative homes began four months ago; the model home will be completed within two months. 

ACHIEVEMENTS

■ Cedar Fair LP ’s Cedar Point and Knott’s Berry Farm amusement parks have been given the Classic Award and the Award for Outstanding Achievement, respectively, by the International Themed Entertainment Association.

■ Hylant , a local insurance brokerage firm, has been named, for the ninth straight year, one of the Best Places to Work in Insurance by Business Insurance magazine.

■ The Andersons Inc. of Monclova Township has named Jeffrey Blair as president of its Plant Nutrient Group, effective Dec. 4, to replace retiring Bill Wolf. Mr. Blair was vice president of sales and marketing for Intrepid Potash Inc.

■ Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. of Findlay has named Tracey Joubert , chief financial officer of Molson Coors Brewing Co., as a new board member.

■ Genacross Lutheran Services-Toledo Campus , formerly Lutheran Home of Toledo, has been named a bronze Employer of Choice by LeadingAgeOhio.

■ Marathon Petroleum Corp. of Findlay announced the retirement of Rodney Nichols , executive vice president of human resources, health, and administrative services, effective Jan. 1.

■ Tara Sibert has been named financial sales manager for First Federal Bank Sylvania branch at 5520 Monroe St.
