Two local ecumenical Christian organizations, The Toledo Area Council of Churches and Toledo Metropolitan Ministries, are merging operations to create a unified ministry to better serve the greater Toledo area.
The combined group will be known as Toledo Area Ministries, and its mission statement is to be the church in the world by meeting human need, creating community, and working for justice.
Both the TACC and TMM had been overseen by the Toledo Ecumenical Area Ministries, but each had its own board of directors and staff. Toledo Area Ministries will have a single board of trustees that will set policy for the entire ministry, according to the Rev. Larry Clark, executive director of TAM. Programs and ministries run by the two organizations will continue including Feed Your Neighbor, Love INC, House My People, and spring and fall banquets.
