New officers were appointed last month of the Christ Child Society of Toledo, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children in need. Installed for 2007-08 were Anne Malone, president; Lucy Abu-Absi, president-elect; Karen Smith, treasurer; Sister Rosine Sobszak, recording secretary; Marilyn Arbaugh, corresponding secretary, and Marjorie Hanley, parliamentarian and adviser.
The Christ Child Society was founded in 1887 by Mary Virginia Merrick and now has 42 chapters in the United States. The Toledo chapter was organized in 1990.
