FINDLAY Bishop Marcus Lohrmann of the Northwestern Ohio Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America will be leaving for the Middle East, along with 59 U.S. and 5 Canadian bishops, for meetings starting Monday and continuing through Jan. 17.
The Lutheran bishops will be meeting in Israel, Jordan, and Palestinian territories, citing the ELCA s commitment to helping achieve peaceful and just solutions for all people living in the Holy Land.
Even at this time of unrest, we know that Jesus is Lord whether we are safe here in the United States, or standing with our brothers and sisters in the Holy Land who are struggling with strife and darkness due to war and conflict, Bishop Lohrmann said.
