CAREY, Ohio The Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, run by the Conventual Franciscan Friars, will host the Novena of Our Lady of Consolation starting Thursday and continuing until the Feast of the Assumption on Aug. 14.
Thousands of pilgrims are expected for the Feast of the Assumption, which celebrates the Blessed Virgin Mary s bodily assumption into heaven.
This year the shrine will feature the Rev. David Ross, pastor of St. Rose and St. John the Evangelist Parishes in Lima.
Weekday Masses will be celebrated at 7 and 11 a.m.; the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered daily at 7 p.m. except on Sunday, and evening novena services will begin at 8 p.m. with prayer, rosary procession, benediction, and individual prayer.
Sunday Masses are at 8 and 10 a.m. and noon.
