ADRIAN — The Adrian Dominican Sisters have elected new leadership and affirmed their commitment made in 2004 to “seek truth, make peace, reverence life.”
At a 10-day General Chapter planning and election session Feb. 18-27, the nuns elected Sister Attracta Kelly as prioress; Sister Julie Hyer as administrator and general councilor; Sister Tarianne deYonker as vicaress and general councilor, and Sister Corinne Sanders and Sister Kathleen Schanz as general councilors.The religious order also made a number of commitments including “to live simply and sustainably”; “study emerging theologies and worldviews,” and allow themselves “to be transformed by people of diverse races, cultures, classes, and faith traditions.”
