Annunciation Radio, Toledo's first Catholic station, went on the air full time Sunday, broadcasting 24 hours a day, seven days a week as WNOC-FM (89.7).
Deacon Michael Learned, station president, said station officials overcame some last-minute glitches to get ready for broadcasting 24/7 on Sunday.
“I kept praying and remembering that I was an instrument in the hand of God, and we overcame all those things and started broadcasting,” Mr. Learned said.
WNOC's 5.3-kilowatt signal, carrying a mix of national and local Catholic programs, reaches an audience that ranges from southern Michigan to south of Bowling Green, and from Swanton east to Bono.
Holy Family Radio, another regional Catholic station centered in Leipsic, Ohio, went on air in May as WJTA-FM (88.9).
