Church seeks soles to aid needy souls worldwide

OTTAWA, Ohio — New Creation Lutheran Church, 8127 East Main St., is collecting new or slightly used shoes this month in partnership with Soles4Souls, a nonprofit group that last year gave away more than 5.2 million shoes to the needy worldwide.

Soles4Souls was founded after the southeast Asian tsunami in 2004. It provided more than 1 million shoes to Gulf Coast residents after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, helped in Haiti after the earthquake, and pledges to provide 100,000 pairs of shoes to flood victims in Pakistan.
