Assemblies of God leader to speak at Calvary church

The Rev. George O. Wood, leader of the 2.9-million member Assemblies of God denomination, will speak Oct. 2 and 3 at Calvary Assembly of God, 5025 Glendale Ave.

Mr. Wood, elected general superintendent of the Assemblies of God in August, 2007, is the son of parents who are missionaries to China and Tibet. He has written seven books and has a doctoral degree in pastoral theology from Fuller Theological Seminary and a law degree from Western State University College of Law.

Mr. Wood will speak at a workshop on church missions Oct. 2 at Calvary and will give the sermon at the church's 8:30 and 11 a.m. services Oct. 3.
