New pastor to preach at Maumee Presbyterian

The Rev. Clinton Tolbert will serve in the pulpit Sunday as pastor/head of staff of First Presbyterian Church of Maumee.

Mr. Tolbert, 33, of Lancaster, Ohio, succeeds the Rev. Phil Jones, who left in October, 2007, for a church in New Jersey. The Rev. Conley Zomermaand has served as interim pastor since January, 2008.

The new pastor was chosen from among nearly 300 applications reviewed since March, 2009. A graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, Mr. Tolbert had been serving as pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Greenfield, Ohio.

Traditional worship services are at 8:30 and 11 a.m.; a contemporary service is at 9 a.m.
