The 5th annual Fast-a-Thon, a day of fasting followed by a catered dinner of Mediterranean foods and a talk by filmmaker Kamran Pasha, is set for 6 p.m. Friday at Maumee Valley Country Day School.
Presented by the Muslim American Society at Maumee Valley, the Fast-a-Thon is open to people of all faiths with the goal of bringing people of different religious traditions together for a single cause.
The suggested donation for the event is $5 with proceeds going to help those in the famine in Africa.
After fasting, participants will meet in the Millennium Theatre at the school, 1715 South Reynolds Rd., for a talk by Mr. Pasha, a Golden Globe-winning screenwriter and author. To register, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
