The Toledo Catholic Diocese plans to celebrate the Feast of All Souls Day with Masses at three cemeteries starting at noon Wednesday:
- Calvary Cemetery, 2224 Dorr St., with Bishop Leonard Blair, celebrant.
- Resurrection Cemetery, 5725 Hill Ave., with the Rev. Joseph Steinbauer, celebrant.
- Mount Carmel Cemetery, 15 East Manhattan Bvd., Toledo, with the Rev. Joseph Poggemeyer, celebrant.
All Souls Day is a solemn feast in the Roman Catholic Church to commemorate the faithfully departed. The feast day dates to 998 and was accepted in Rome in the 13th century. Traditionally, November is a month for Catholics to visit the graves of loved ones.
