An introductory meeting of a Padre Pio Prayer Group is to be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Christ the King Parish, 4100 Harvest Lane.
Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, known as Padre Pio, was a Capuchin friar known for bearing stigmata, or the wounds of Christ, on his hands and feet. He died in 1968 at age 81 and was canonized by Pope John Paul II in 2002.
The prayer group is to hold all future meetings on the second Saturday of each month, starting Feb. 11. Mass will be celebrated at 8 a.m., followed by adoration and the Rosary. All Catholics are invited to attend, said group leader Magdalena Skiles. She said the group welcomes prayers of members who cannot attend in person. More information is available from Ms. Skiles at 419-356-4208 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
