Menards Inc. to add as many as 350 jobs
HOLIDAY CITY, Ohio — Home improvement retailer Menards Inc. will add as many as an additional 350 jobs to its distribution center in Williams County with the help of a 55 percent, 10 year tax credit awarded Monday by the Ohio Tax Credit Authority.
State development officials said the additional jobs, which would come over the next three years, would add $8.2 million in additional payroll to the facility’s current $10.6 million payroll, which Menard’s would have to maintain for at least 13 years, starting in 2013. The average wage of the new positions would average $11.30 per hour, plus an additional $2.12 per hour in benefits, the Ohio Department of Development said.
Jeff Abbott, a spokesman for the privately-held home improvement warehouse chain based in Eau Claire, Wis., said the company could not yet comment on the state action.
