Prep and college sports

The first annual Lance Cpl. Jeremy Shock memorial all-night softball tournament will be held at Green Springs Community Park, May 23-24. The draw is May 21 at 5 p.m. with a $130 entry fee that includes umpires and balls. Call Nancy at 419-547-6486 for more information. Coed and men s teams included.

The Genoa Little League will be holding tournaments this summer. The U10 tournament will be held from June 11-14. The U12 and U14 tournaments will be held from July 1-5. All tournaments are $150 plus one umpire fee per game. If you have any questions please contact Lee Nissen at 419-351-2398.

Toledo Community Recreation Programs: boys baseball for ages 14-under and 17-under, $125 per team, includes umps and balls. Games played Monday-Thursday beginning June 15. 9U Nations/Ohio state qualifier is being held May 8-10 in Perrysburg. We are looking for an additional team to fill this tournament. Winner receives a paid bid to the Nations State Tournament in June. Nations baseball rules will be used. Three-game guarantee. The Spring Junior Golf Academy is scheduled to begin April 25 at Cottonwood Creek Golf Center in Sylvania. The academy will run for five weeks and is open to all golfers age 18 and under. Instruction will consist of basic fundamentals (ages 10-under from 8-9:30 a.m. and ages 11-18 from 10-11:30 a.m.) Cost is $75. Information: 419-829-4653.
