The Anthony Wayne Board of Education made a flurry of hires at a special board meeting last week and accepted several resignations.

•Esther Stoller, elementary teacher.
•Ann Haley-Dilworth, elementary teacher.
•Joanna Brentlinger, special education aide.
•Fay Birkemeier, nurse.
•Jana Harrison, tutor.
•Michelle McConahy, tutor.
The board approved summer contracts for Ohio Graduation Test Intervention for Paul Amstutz, Jim Eberly, Julie Blakely, Kasey Haydock, and Toni Hoen. A primary intervention summer contract was approved for Ms. McConahy.
Jessica Aston and Leslie McArthur were approved as home instruction tutors, and Rachel Simpson, Tom Giffin, and Rosalyn Smith were approved as summer instrumental music instructors.
The board also approved the leave of absence request of elementary teacher Ivy Thornton.
The board approved the retirement resignations of instrumental music teacher Amy Graham, junior high social studies teacher Stephen Wilwohl, elementary teacher Judy Hansen, engineer Doyle Echler, and custodian Marvin Rashley.
Assistant high school principal Jim Fritz resigned to accept a position with the Lucas County Educational Service Center. That position will not be filled, officials said.
