Student of the week - Kirstin Allinson

Kirstin Allinson, a senior from Perrysburg, plans to study elementary education or journalism at Ohio University or Bowling Green State University.

Her favorite subjects include English literature and contemporary issues, and she has a 4.5 grade-point average.

Kirstin is a recipient of the American Chemical Society award, the Governor's Award for Excellence in Marenais Science Research, the ACSI Distinguished Christian Student award, and the ACSI Creative Writing award.

She is a varsity letter winner, receiving her second year pin in soccer and second and third pins in academics.

Kirstin is senior class secretary and a member of the National Honor Society, the concert choir, and the varsity soccer team. She helps teach Sunday school at Westgate Chapel, where she is also a member of the youth group, and volunteers as a teacher's aide at Toledo Christian.

"Kirstin is an outstanding young woman not only in the classroom but in the athletic arena as well," said Don Dressel, contemporary issues teacher at the school. She's always committed 100 percent to whatever she does, setting a great example for all."

Kirstin is the daughter of Joni and Tim Allinson.
