South Toledo

• Mardi Gras Celebration at Park Congregational Church, 1456 Harvard Blvd., Feb. 3. Ragtime Rick's Ecumenical Jazz Band will play at the

10 a.m. worship service. Luncheon will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets at the door: adult, $10; $3 for ages 5-10. Free for ages 4 and under.

• Little Flower Parish card party, 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 14 in the O'Grady Center, 5522 Dorr St. at Olimphia. Lunch and desserts served at noon. Tallies, $6. Reservations required: 419-536-9058.

• African American Read-In Chain, 4-5 p.m. Feb. 4, Mott Branch Library, Grades K-6 read favorite passages of African American books at the same time as children throughout the world. Schools and teachers are encouraged to participate. Co-sponsored by the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Refreshments will be served.

• Football Fever, from 3:45 to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 7 for grades K-4, Heatherdowns Branch Library, Glanzman Road. Celebrate the Super Bowl with a game, prizes, and a visit by Super Toe Joe.

RuneScape for teens, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 27. Grades 5-12 meet in the library computer lab for RuneScape action. Open to 10 participants.

• American Red Cross blood drive at St. Joan of Arc, 5856 Heatherdowns Blvd., 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 9. Babysitting available the day of the drive. Appointments not required: 419-861-0161.

• Monday Mysteries Book Club, spring reading for

7 p.m. discussions at the Wood County District Public Library, North Main Street: Feb. 11, Shackles by Bill Pronzini; March 3, Iron Lake by William Kent Krueger, a Call the Author Night. Books available at the library for advance reading.

• St. Aloysius School spaghetti dinner, 148 South Enterprise Rd., 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 1. Use the Summit Street entrance. Cost, $6.50 adult, $4 for seniors ages 60 and over, and children ages 3-12. Proceeds benefits the eighth-grade academic trips.

• Classical concert by student winners of the Bowling Green State University College of Musical Arts' annual Competitions in Music Performance, with the Bowling Green Philharmonia, 8 p.m. Feb. 2 in Kobacker Hall of BGSU's Moore Musical Arts Center. Tickets: 419-372-8171 or 1-800-589-2224.

• Horizon Youth Theatre variety show of youth performers under age 19, 7 to 9 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Simpson Building. Maumee

• Pancake and sausage breakfast and eggs strata, at Cass Road Baptist Church, 1400 Cass Rd., 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Feb. 2. Free for ages 4 and under. Soup, salad, and dessert luncheon, noon Feb. 10.

• Citizens for Maumee Schools Chili Dinner, 5:30 to 7 p.m. Feb. 8, Maumee High School cafeteria, 1147 Saco St. Dinner precedes MHS vs. Springfield basketball game. Dinner includes chili-white chili (chicken nuggets for children), salad, bread, beverage, and dessert. Tickets: $6 for adults, $4 for senior citizens and students.
