Brent Swartzmiller, assistant principal at Maumee High School, has been hired as the principal at Perrysburg's Frank Elementary School starting with the 2008-2009 school year.
Mr. Swartzmiller will replace Terry Teopas, who is retiring after holding the Frank position for 23 years.
Mr. Swartzmiller has been in his current post since 2006. He has responsibility for the high school's athletic and extracurricular activities.
He was principal for three years at Wayne Trail Elementary in Maumee and two years at Bloomdale Elementary in Bloomdale, Ohio. He also was assistant principal at Fremont Middle School and Stamm Elementary in the same district.
He has a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Heidelberg College and a master's in education from Bowling Green State University, where he is working on his doctorate.
