Perrysburg junior high students raise $2,223 for Haiti

Following what turned out to be a whole-hearted effort, students at Perrysburg Junior High School tallied the total amount of donations given during a recent fund-raiser to aid earthquake-ravaged Haiti.

Students sold paper hearts for $1 each during their Hearts for Haiti outreach activity, and recently they presented to the American Red Cross a check for $2,223.

A flurry of paper hearts decorated walls in the school during a couple weeks in February when donations poured in for the disaster relief effort.
