Wood County far begins, runs through Aug. 6

Bring on the baby farm animals, tractors, and midway rides.

The first full week of Wood County Fair is under way.

The fair, which runs through Aug. 6, is expected to bring more than 100,000 people to Bowling Green grounds, organizers said.

Some highlights include a performance by country singer Gretchen Wilson, who is known for her redneck pride and her independent swagger. The show starts at 8:30 p.m. Saturday and costs $25 for a seat on the track or $20 for a spot on the grandstand.
