Harper Lee documentary next in library series

The Way Library Reel Opinions film series will continue at 10:30 a.m. Thursday with the documentary Harper Lee: Hey, Boo. The documentary chronicles the book To Kill a Mocking Bird and how it came to be written and provides context and history of the South, where the novel is set.

It also goes into why Ms. Lee, author of To Kill a Mocking Bird, never published again.

The event at the library, 101 East Indiana Ave., is free and refreshments will be served. A discussion will take place afterward.

Rossford WWII nurse to discuss her experiences

Elsie Perch of Rossford, a World War II nurse who served in the European theater, will be a guest speaker for the American Legion Post 28 in Perrysburg at 7 p.m. Monday at Schaller Hall, 130 West Indiana Ave.

She will talk about hardships during the war.

There will be a question-and-answer time afterwords along with light refreshments.
