New specialty license tags to support Ohio Pet Fund

A specialty license plate depicting a cartoon image of a dog and cat will go on sale Monday to benefit the Ohio Pet Fund, which helps fund spaying and neutering programs.

The pet license plates will cost $25 in addition to normal registration fees, Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles officials said. The plates will be issued at any deputy registrar's office, by mail, and online at www.oplates.com.

The Ohio Pet Fund will get $15 from each plate sold. The fund will provide money to animal shelters for spaying and neutering and assistance to limited-income families with the cost of surgery.
