AAA Michigan: Gas prices at lowest point in years

DEARBORN, Mich. AAA Michigan says the statewide average price of gasoline is at its lowest level since January 2005.

The Michigan average is at $1.76. That s down 20 cents from a week ago.

Of the cities it surveys, AAA Michigan said Monday the cheapest price for self-serve regular fuel is in the Flint area, where it s $1.71 a gallon. The highest average can be found in the Marquette area at $2.08.

The statewide average for biodiesel is $2.88 and $1.82 for ethanol.

The Dearborn-based auto club surveys 2,800 Michigan gas stations daily.
