2 killed in crash of small plane

MANLIUS TOWNSHIP, Michigan - A male and a female died in the crash of a single-engine Cessna Skyhawk in a field in southwest Michigan yesterday, the Allegan County Sheriff's Department said. The victims were not identified. Hope College said they were believed to be students at the college in Holland, Mich.
Authorities said the small plane apparently made a distress call shortly before it disappeared from radar.
