State troopers looking to identify truck involved in fatal Erie County crash

BLADE STAFF

MILAN, Ohio — State troopers are looking for help in locating a pickup truck that was involved in a fatal crash in Erie County on the Ohio Turnpike Sunday.

The pickup truck, which was pulling a trailer, was westbound about 11:55 a.m. when the trailer lost a tire and the tire bounced over the median wall and struck an eastbound car. The driver of the car, Douglas Wise, 51, of Grove City, Ohio was killed.

A photo of the pickup truck was taken as the vehicle left the toll booth at the U.S. 250/Sandusky exit. The photo is posted at statepatrol.ohio.gov and is here on this site.

Anyone with information about the pickup truck is asked to call the Milan post of the Ohio Highway Patrol, 419-499-4808.
