Patrol: 2 elderly Cincinnati women killed by truck involved in police chase

ASSOCIATED PRESS

CINCINNATI — Authorities say two elderly Cincinnati women were killed when their vehicle was hit by a truck that police had been chasing.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the Sunday night crash in Union Township, east of Cincinnati, killed two women in their 70s in a Chrysler minivan.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that the van was hit in an intersection by the Ford Penske rental truck that ran a red light. The patrol said that Union County police had been chasing the truck, but it was not clear if the chase was still going on when the crash occurred.

Two people in the truck were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Their identities haven’t yet been confirmed.
