State troopers seized more than 6-1/2 pounds of marijuana and two pounds of heroin during a drug-interdiction campaign last week on the Ohio Turnpike between Cleveland and Toledo.

The four-day effort, from Monday through Thursday, was "aimed at removing criminals from Ohio communities and roadways," the Ohio Highway Patrol said in a statement.

Overall, cash and drugs valued at a combined $218,557 were seized. Out of 238 traffic stops, troopers made seven felony drug arrests, two felony weapons arrests, and three misdemeanor drug arrests.

Contraband seized included 2.98 kilograms of marijuana, 1.02 kg of heroin, 28 grams of hasish, 1 gram of cocaine, 209 prescription pills, two semi-automatic handguns, and $29,487 in U.S. currency, troopers said.
