Glitch freezes some TV programming

An unknown glitch yesterday left the late-afternoon programming of four network affiliates frozen on the TV sets of some area viewers for 10 to 15 minutes.

Only broadcasts for WTOL-TV, Channel 11 (CBS), WTVG-TV, Channel 13 (ABC), WUPW, Channel 36 (FOX), and WNWO-TV, Channel 24 (NBC) were affected, and only for Buckeye CableSystem subscribers.

Tom Dawson, Buckeye spokesman, said engineers "rebooted a processor and service came back up. .•.•. Things are working now, and they're trying to find a cause so we can avoid this in the future."
