Tina Shaerban is leaving WTOL Channel 11's morning team.
Ch. 11's Shaerban leavingWTOL-TV, Channel 11, traffic reporter and morning anchor Tina Shaerban is leaving the station because she is moving back to her hometown, Cleveland. Her last day is today.
Shaerban has been with WTOL for two years. Most recently she assumed anchor duties for the hour-long 9 a.m. News 11 Your Day while anchor-reporter Melissa Voetsch is on medical leave.
"I'm going to miss WTOL terribly, but family will always come before career for me and I have to make this move for my family," she said.
As for her future, she joked, it will be "something without a 2 a.m. alarm clock."
C.J. Hoyt, WTOL's news director, said Shaerban will not be easy to replace.
"She brings a natural joy with her to our newsroom every single day. It's the kind of brightness and enthusiasm that's not easy to find," he said. "We are actively working to find a replacement and hope to have someone in place in early August."
