Rocket women knock off Ashland in exhibition game

Teresa Kahle scored 20 points as six players scored in double figures for the University of Toledo women's basketball team in a 96-71 victory over Ashland last night in an exhibition game at Savage Hall.

Courtney Risinger tallied 14, Tia Davis 12 and Kelly Walker 11. Melantha Herron and Karin Hoogendam scored 10 each.

Hattie Bagbey led Ashland with 13. Kyra Gross added 12 and Isolina Bescia had 10.

The Rockets shot 45 percent (36 of 79) from the floor to Ashland's 46 percent (22 of 48). At the foul line, UT made 16 of 25 to the Eagles' 24 of 27.

UT, which led 42-32 at halftime, held a 40-36 rebounding edge.
