Shook wins 3,000-meter chase at Penn Relays
PHILADELPHIA - Brianna Shook, a former University of Toledo runner, captured the Olympic Development 3,000-meter steeplechase Thursday night at the Penn Relays.
Shook, now an assistant coach at UT, won the title for the fourth conseuctive year with a time of 10:01.51.
Four from the Rocket women's track team competed. The three runners in the 10,000 all set personal-best marks - sophomore Alison Tittle (21st, 36:24.38), freshman Jennifer Spieldenner (24th, 36:51.15) and freshman Nicole Camp (25th, (36:55.28). Junior Kelly McCarty placed 17th in the 3,000.
DES MOINES - Bowling Green State University's Melissa Krueger, Bridget Dalic, Nicole Suitor and Jamie Roflow established a school record in the 4x1600-meter relay at the Drake Relays. Their time of 20:32.01 far surpassed the old mark of
20:47.42, set in 1991.
