The University of Toledo women s basketball team snapped a five-game losing streak by beating North Dakota on Saturday, 68-60 at Savage Arena.
Sophomore Melissa Goodall scored 14 points and had 16 rebounds to pace the Rockets, who led by as many as 23 in the second half before North Dakota closed the gap.
Sophomore Jessica Williams added 15 points and three assists. UT (3-5) forced 27 North Dakota turnovers and outrebounded the Fighting Sioux 48-41 in front of a crowd of 2,313.
I have been to this arena as an assistant coach, and it is so much more fun to have the fans cheering for you than against you, UT coach Tricia Cullop said.
Our fans are amazing. I m proud of [the players]. It took a lot for them to not hang their heads after what we ve done the last few weeks.
