UT womens basketball to hold "Rockets For the Cure" day

FOR THE CURE: The UT women s basketball team will hold a Rockets For the Cure day on Feb. 15 when it hosts Kent State at 2 p.m. at Savage Arena. The game will help benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Northwest Ohio. The team encourages everyone in attendance to wear pink in support of cancer research.

Group rates are available and a memorabilia raffle will take place during the game.

The autographed memorabilia includes items from women s basketball coaches Pat Summitt of Tennessee, Geno Auriemma of Connecticut, Gail Goestenkors of Texas, Brenda Frese of Maryland, Bill Fennelly of Iowa State and Sylvia Hatchell of North Carolina.

Items from men s basketball coaches include Roy Williams of North Carolina and Bill Self of Kansas.

Proceeds from the raffle and T-shirt sales will also benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Northwest Ohio.
