CLEVELAND -- The University of Toledo women advanced to the Mid-American Conference basketball finals with a 51-49 win over Kent State Friday afternoon at Quicken Loans Arena.
The Rockets (24-7) played sloppy at the end of the game, regularly missing free throws and turning over the ball. Jessica Williams, who had just missed two free throws, stripped Kent's Taisja Jones on the Golden Flashes' final possession to end the game.
Naama Shafir led UT with 13 points. After the victory over Akron on Friday, Bowling Green State University meets UT in tomorrow's championship.
