Naama Shafir dropped in 23 points, Jessica Williams hit six 3-pointers for 18 points, and the University of Toledo women's basketball team defeated Pittsburgh 70-58 in the first round of the Women's National Invitation Tournament on Friday night in front of 1,868 at Savage Arena.
The Rockets (25-8) opened the contest on an 18-3 run and cruised from there to their first postseason victory since 1998.
Taneisha Harrison led the Panthers (16-15) with 18 points.
