Lemons commits to UT basketball team

Toledo Central Catholic's Drew Lehman (20) is pressured by LaSalle's Josh Lemons (3) and Ryan Fleming (3) during the second half of the 2011 State Boys Division I basketball semifinal. LaSalle won 48-46.

The University of Toledo men's basketball team received a verbal commitment from Cincinnati La Salle senior guard Josh Lemons. Lemons is the second player to commit to UT in a week, joining postgraduate power forward Aubrey Williams.

Lemons, who was named the GCL-South player of the year for a second consecutive season, averaged 18 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 3 steals in the regular season. La Salle was ranked No. 2 in the state poll before being bounced from the tournament in their quest to repeat as state champions.

Lemons originally committed to Southeastern Louisiana in October but reconsidered and re-opened his recruitment, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Lemons was on hand Monday evening to watch UT's win over Miami in the first round of the Mid-American Conference tournament at Savage Arena.
